Andriette is a compassionate Nurse Practitioner with a deep commitment to supporting people with high care needs, particularly those who lack support systems or feel isolated. With over 39 years of nursing experience, Andriette’s passion lies in advocating for vulnerable individuals and ensuring they receive the quality care they deserve.
Throughout her career, Andriette has provided care in some of the most challenging healthcare environments including Intensive Care, Coronary Care, Emergency and Trauma ICU, Forensic Health, and Remote Aboriginal Health Services.
Andriette believes in empowering individuals to live with dignity, regardless of their circumstances. Whether organising care behind the scenes or being a constant presence for those with complex medical needs, Andriette’s passion for making a difference is at the heart of everything she does.
Toby’s story.
Hardship & homelessness.
Toby is an Indigenous man who spent three long years living on the streets, grappling with complex healthcare needs. Without an NDIS plan, Toby’s hardship and isolation were even more challenging as he was unable to access vital social and medical services he desperately needed.
Despite his need for specialised care, he was always turned away by healthcare providers and support services.
A voice for the voiceless.
Through a connection with a local GP, Gesond stepped in to advocate for Toby. Understandably, Toby was on the defence — loud and aggressive at times, having been burnt too many times in the past. We were patient, and for the first time in a long time, Toby was given a voice and treated with respect. We guided him through the process of applying for an NDIS plan, ensuring every detail was taken care of. Our team worked tirelessly to navigate the red tape and support Toby in getting the help he deserved.
Toby’s NDIS plan was approved, opening the door to a new beginning. He's now in the process of applying for stable housing and access to comprehensive healthcare services.
